Saint Artemios Church

The Church of Agios Artemios in Oia village near the maritime museum. Located in the village and in the region of Oia as many other small and large churches.
The church was built in memory of Saint Artemios. St. Great Martyr Artemios considered Christianity. Saint Artemios beheaded in Antioch by order of the Emperor Julian because publicly criticized for putative “apostasy”, by his Christianity. Later the relics of St. transferred and buried in the church of St. John the Baptist in Istanbul where tradition there occurred many miracles.
